Firebrand is a design consultancy specialising in branding, marketing communications and web design. We are recognised for applying logic and clarity in all our design processes to deliver you optimum results. We call it ‘Design with clear thinking’.

Michael specialises in creating brands both on and off-line. He believes passionately that design effectiveness can be measured by results. Loves design detailing - dislikes sloppy typography. When not surfing the net, Michael is equally at home surfing waves.

Jon Bettles - Senior Designer

Jon brings-to-the-table vast experience in designing for retail markets. He likes to find out what makes customers tick before he even thinks of picking up his sketchbook. Jon dreams of being the next Lance Armstrong, but may have to settle for 'King of the South Downs'.

Van Cameron - Web Designer

Van's considerable expertise in web design, information architecture and usability is conspicuous. Our websites work beautifully. As such, he's probably the ultimate advocate of 'design with clear thinking'. Van is often found trying to teach a 3-iron who's boss on the links around Brighton.

One small green cog

Firebrand are committed to becoming a fully sustainable business. In fact, we're well on our way to that goal with an on-going programme of initiatives.

At our studio we:

  • select energy efficient equipment and lighting
  • use heat, water and consumables sparingly
  • cancel duplicate mail subscriptions
  • use green energy
  • use public transport wherever practical
  • reuse all postal packaging
  • recycle all paper, card, cans, glass, plastic, cartridges and equipment

We're a small business. We're just one small green cog in a big polluting wheel. However, we believe that by adopting best practice there's a much bigger knock-on effect through the work we do with our suppliers and clients. That means...

  • promoting the efficient use of resources in printing through intelligent design
  • encouraging the use of recycled, managed and recyclable materials
  • providing on-going environmental consultancy and evaluation
  • ensuring our client’s policies are recognised and understood

It is also our policy to work with like-minded suppliers. So, we use printers that hold FSC accreditation and conform to ISO14001 environmental standards.
